There are two levels
of class, please select the appropriate level of experience.
The
Course
Students
will learn a system for scoring a baseball or softball
game,
including
methods of counting pitches
and recording runs, hits and errors. Students may select
from various options according to their needs.
The Teacher
Louis
Spry retired as associate executive director of the National
Collegiate Athletic Association prior to
its move to Indianapolis. His tenure there spanned more
than 33 years.
He has served as an official scorer for more than 50
years, including the NAIA tournament, the Texas League,
the American League and the College World Series.

Scorekeeper - Thursday, March 6th, Overland Park's Matt Ross Community Center (8101 Marty Crown Room)
The March class for “rookies” [no experience]
will begin with very basic discussions and progress
as far as possible during the period.
Experienced
Scorekeeper - Tuesday, March 11th, Overland Park's Matt Ross Community Center (8101 Marty Crown Room)
The
March class for veterans [at least
one year's experience] will spend less time on
basic symbols and procedures and more on advanced record
keeping.
Cost and Materials
Cost of the clinic is free to members of Johnson
County Three and Two Baseball. Several handouts will
be available, including sample score sheets. Soft
drinks will be provided.
Time
It is anticipated that the clinic will last between
two and two and one-half hours. Attendees may raise
questions at any time, including after the formal
conclusion of the class. |
